We are currently seeking a per diem Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team of professionals. This position is per diem, the schedule will vary throughout the week and require every other weekend.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR PD CLINICAL LAB SCIENTIST CANDIDATES?

  • The Clinical Laboratory Scientist must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological Science or Medical Laboratory Technology
  • At least one year laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Medical Laboratory Technicians are encouraged to apply.


WHAT ARE THE
PD CLINICAL LAB SCIENTIST RESPONSIBILITIES?

The Per Diem Clinical Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for following laboratory procedures: specimen collection, processing, test performance, and for reporting and maintaining records of patient results. Phlebotomy skills are required.

  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of laboratory procedures and instrumentation by passing all competency requirements.
  • Follows BIVF at TWH policies for patient and sample identification including chain of custody for all laboratory procedures.
  • Demonstrates instrument care, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting according to manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Communicates quality control results, patient results, and technical information in an effective and consistent manner.
  • Follows recommended specimen storage requirements and all reagent manufacturer recommendations and records reagent expiration dates appropriately.
  • Attends all required safety training programs and maintains safety policy compliance.
  • Follows appropriate infection prevention practices and biohazard exposure plan.
  • Has complete understanding in the use of practice specific EMR (eIVF) for proper patient documentation and treatment coordination
  • Assists embryology with IVF data entry, case preparation, sperm prep, lab cleaning and equipment maintenance, and other duties as assigned by the lab supervisor.
