Clinical Chaplaincy Liaison for Hospice Services
- Position is Contingent upon Contract Award
PART-TIME
Location: Butner, NC (Correctional Complex)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess, at a minimum, a Master’s degree in theology, divinity, or pastoral care
from an accredited graduate school.
- Must possess a thorough combination of education and experience, a general working
knowledge of a broad variety of religious traditions.
- Must have excellent written and communication skills.
- Must complete and submit the “Credentials of Religious Services Contractor” form with quote.
- Must have experience working with grief, death, and dying (preferred, but not required).
- Must have experience working in a correctional environment (preferred, but not
required).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shall act as a liaison with the FMC chaplain staff and medical staff in providing spiritual
support to terminally ill inmates and their families as needed.
- Shall have spiritual assessment of multi-faith inmates, considering mental,
emotional, and physical and stresses, and respond with appropriate counseling and care.
- Must submit written reports on terminally ill inmates to include request for visits from
clergy of the inmate’s faith, the next of kin information, special religious arrangements
and needs upon death, and serve as a liaison between chaplaincy staff and the inmate.
- Must attend team meetings, departmental meetings, or other meetings related to the
involvement of services to be provided by terms of the contract. Some meetings will be
required on contract time.
HOURS:
Shall work approximately 20 hours per week.
