CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant

FULL-TIME SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Overnight Shift (10PM - 6AM)

*Time and Half on weekends and Holidays!*

Starting rate $14 per hour, based on experience

Luther Manor is a not-for-profit 64 bed skilled nursing facility located in Hannibal, MO. We take pride in our resident care and always make sure their values come first. We are currently looking to add passionate, caring and dedicated CNAs to our team of outstanding employees. This position is for a full time night shift CNA (10p-6a). Qualifications for this position include:

- The ability to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state and/or local law.

-Have completed a state-approved nurses aide-training program. (Preferred)

-Understand English (both written and spoken) is preferred.

- Current CNA certification and registration with the Missouri Department of Health. (Preferred)

The Main Functions of this position include:

- Providing care for multiple residents in the facility, including personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing and dressing).

- Knowledge and observation of Resident Rights.

- Assisting with feeding; passing and picking up food trays, serving nourishment and keeping record of intake and output. Monitor dining room during mealtimes as scheduled.

- Transferring residents to and from bed or chair, or other locations within the facility (gait belt, lift, etc.). Repositioning residents in their beds or their chairs, and assist them with personal and dental hygiene needs. Provide ambulation assistance.

- Providing residents with assistance to and from the toilet and assist with any toileting needs. Keeping incontinent residents clean as well as monitoring and recording bowel movements. Passing and emptying bedpans, urinals and emesis basins; collect specimens such as urine, stool and sputum.

- Stripping resident beds of used or soiled linens, and replacing them with clean linens; making beds.

- Answering call lights/bells and making rounds to ensure residents have proper around-the-clock care.

- Take and recording vital signs; measure and record height and weight. Recording activities of daily living on flow sheets or similar charting methods. Observe residents and note physical conditions, attitudes, reactions, appetites, etc., and report any changes to the Nurse.

- Use safety devices and standard precautions to prevent the spread of infection and disease. In an emergency, you will evacuate residents in according to fire, safety and evacuation policies.

- Provide Post-Mortem Care

Additional Functions of this position also include assisting Nurses with admitting, transferring and discharging residents. Assist Nurses in giving treatments and examining residents. Provide assistance with restorative and rehab care activities/exercises under proper supervision and instruction.

Notable Functions include coming to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality. Provide well in advance notice to DON and Nurses should you be unable to work as scheduled, or unable to complete a full shift. You must be able to reliably commute to the facility for scheduled shifts (or relocate to facility area, prior to starting employment).

In this position, you will be using equipment such as stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, scales, trays, carts, hoyer lifts, whirlpool tub, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, charts, linens, towels. Standard precaution and PPE (gloves, goggles, masks, aprons), thermometers, urinals, bedpans, commodes and personal hygiene supplies.
