Job description

We're looking for an experienced Nursing Assistant who is capable of being part of a fast pased team and is comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds. We're looking for an individual who has excellent customer service and can deliver services with the utmost respect for the patients we serve.

Reviews providers orders, and orders the appropriate laboratory tests as defined by the patient's order provided by the provider.

Verifies patient by using two patient identifiers.

Take vital sighs.

Obtains urine per established laboratory policy.

Labels patient specimens with at least two patient identifiers and date, time, and collector's initials.

Processes specimens for testing and distributes to the appropriate laboratory department for testing or sends to the reference lab by following established laboratory policy.

Assists in keeping supplies at adequate levels by completing inventory.

Disposes of biomedical waste according to state standards

Utilizes personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA

Works within safety policies and procedures defined by lab protocol

Maintains the collection space ensuring the space is clean, sanitized, and organized

Interacts in a professional and courteous manner with patients at all times

Provides patient with preparation and collection instructions for lab testing

Maintains patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

Verifies patients' information is up to date in EHR

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
