JOB TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant / Nurse Aide

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant / Nurse Aide to join our care-giving team of professionals at Island Pacific Care. As a CNA, your primary focus will be to provide general nursing care and support to our impaired clients and a rewarding and enjoyable experience for our clients. A CNA must be an enthusiastic and caring individual with excellent communication skills and commit to delivering the highest quality care to our clients. If you enjoy working with people and have a strong passion for helping others, you could be our next Certified Nursing Assistant and assist with a wide variety of nursing care duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with daily living activities such as serving meals, turning and ambulating patients

• Provide patient’s personal & oral hygiene

• Assist patient’s vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature

• Change bed linens, run errands, and accompany client to Dr.’s visits

• Observe and record patient’s conditions in patient’s chart

• Engage in mandatory in-service education programs

• Motivate clients to engage in social and recreational activities

• Assist with self-administered medications by reminding patients to take them at the prescribed time(s) and/or follow up to ensure they are taken properly

• Comply with HIPAA Privacy Act by protecting confidential patient information

• Abide by professional standards, follow policies and procedures as well as federal state and local requirements, and Joint Commission standards

• Escort clients when traveling or going to appointments

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS FOR THE JOB:

• Minimum of 6 months to a year of caregiving/CNA experience

• Valid state-approved CNA license required

• Valid State-Approved Nurse Aide Certificate

• Must have a reliable transportation

• If transporting a client, you must have a Valid State of HI driver’s

• Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy

• Able to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively

• High tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations in a calm demeanor

• Must pass the criminal background check

• Meet all state requirements for CNAs

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
