GeoLogics Opportunity: CNC Machinist / Garden City Park, NY (Immediate need)
Our client is the expert in small synchronous drives, with 80 years of success in manufacturing custom and standard timing pulleys, gears, custom assemblies, and as a supplier of timing belts.
Job Description:
Manufacturing company is seeking for a
CNC Machinist with experience in setting up jobs on mill and/or lathe.
Job responsibilities :
- Set up machines to manufacture parts, the process will include editing CNC programs and offsets as well as cutting tool and work holding changes.
- Operate lathes and/or mills.
- Work from drawings, manufacturing methods and verbal instructions.
- Provide 1st piece inspection parts prior to production.
- Perform in-process inspection as required.
- Perform daily machine maintenance per machine instructions.
- Work as part of a team as well as independently to complete jobs.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year experience setting up and programming CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Ability to read and work from methods sheets, drawings and verbal instructions.
- Good knowledge of basic CNC mill/lathe tooling.
- Must be neat, well organized and reliable.
- Proficient with most machine shop measuring tools. (i.e. calipers, micrometers etc.).
- Must be detail oriented.
- Dependable.
- Punctual.
- Good communication skills.
