Prototype 5-Axis CNC Milling Programmer / 5-Axis CNC Machinist

ARCH Quakertown specializes in creating surgical instrumentation and implants for the medical industry, and has been doing so for over 25 years. We are growing a lot, and are now looking for Prototype 5-Axis Programmers and 5-Axis Machinists to grow with us!

The Role of a 5-Axis Programmer / 5-Axis Machinist at ARCH – Quakertown:

This is a unique position for the right individuals with strong machining experience, providing extensive opportunities to excel and grow in an environment that promotes autonomy, learning, innovation, collaboration, curiosity, trust, and an overall desire to succeed.

This role is responsible for working together with the team to manufacture low to medium quantity surgical instruments using 5-Axis milling machines.

If you are passionate about CNC Machining and Programming and are eager to learn something new, we are interested in talking to you about an opportunity to work with us.

Technical Skills:

• Making Parts with 5-Axis Milling Machines: Can you work from technical drawings and solid models to produce a variety of complex prototype and production components? Can you efficiently utilize a 5-Axis mill to make parts? Can you look at a complicated part and come up with a plan to effectively make it?
• 5-Axis Programming: Are you able to program 5-Axis milling machines with CAM software such as Fusion 360 or HyperMILL? Are you familiar with lights out/ unattended machining and automation? Do you have experience with standardization?
• 5-Axis Setup and Operation: Can you follow a setup sheet or look at a program on CAM and set up a job? Are you proficient at adjusting tool and machine offsets to make sure the parts are correct? Can you operate a HAAS and/or Heidenhain control?
• Do you have exposure to complex, tight tolerance, and finely finished machined components and/or assemblies? Knowledge of Medical Device is a plus.
• Cutting tool and toolpath knowledge: Do you know the best way to push the limits of current cutting tool technology?
