Job description
Develop programs to control machining or processing of parts by automatic machine tools, equipment or systems. As a CNC Programmer, you will program 3-5 axis machines using Esprit. Experience with Pro E, and or SmartCam a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Work with quality engineer to help develop quality plan
- Coordinate fixture design & cutter selection
- Acting as a liaison for engineers and CNC machine operators to ensure a high quality product
- Revising programs to eliminate errors and re-testing programs to ensure problem resolution
- Analyzing engineering instructions, drawings, blueprints, specifications and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds and feed rates
- Observe CNC machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications
- Determine reference points, machine cutting paths and compute angular and linear dimensions, radii and curvatures
- Compare computer printouts with original part specifications and blueprints to verify accuracy of instructions
- Entering coordinates into program memories
- Writing programs and storing programs on media
- Modifying existing programs to enhance efficiency
- Work with production on set up & prove out

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 5 years experience programming CNC milling and turning of various metals
- Computer knowledge, 3D Cam Model software
- Esprit programming preferred. Experience with Pro E, and or SmartCam a plus.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with website Development and networking concepts
