Nemours is seeking a Remote Coder to add to our team.
Primary Functions-
This position is responsible for the creation, maintenance and ongoing operation of an efficient and accurate system of registering and recording physician services provided to Nemours patients. The position consists of reviewing physician submitted charges, dictated notes and operative reports to correctly code levels of service and all performed procedures. The individual must have basic CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM knowledge. Obtaining one of either CPC, CCS-P, RHIA or RHIT coding certifications within a year of employment is required.

Essential Functions-
- Accurately enter levels of service and performed procedures from physician submitted charges.
- Register patients using the correct plan codes, and demographic data for all patients
- Serve as a resource with regard to rules for the best utilization of CPT-4 codes, ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and modifiers to maximize reimbursement for designated services
- Monitor various reports, e.g., Workqueues, CCI edits, etc.
- Assist in identifying coding issues as applicable to areas of responsibility Be aware of third party payment issues and requirements that impact how services are coded and tracked
- Communicate directly with physicians and providers of service regarding any codes that need to be changed, added, or removed to appropriately bill services
- Remain abreast and adhere to insurance company, CPT-4, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, Federal and State requirements for correct coding and clean claim submission
- Assist with month end functions as needed and as work levels permit.
