Engineering Co-Op – Midland Michigan
International Flavors and Fragrances Inc. is an industry leader in taste, scent and nutrition. IFF is seeking innovative, collaborative college students to participate in our Summer/Fall 2022 Engineering Co-Op program at our IFF site in Midland, Michigan. IFF Co-Ops will have the opportunity to gain hands-on working experience while strengthening their professional skillset.
As an engineering Co-Op, you will spend your time…
- Provide support to production engineers in executing plant trials as well as production and maintenance troubleshooting.
- Perform data analysis to support plant improvement projects and identify areas for reducing downtime.
- Work closely with plant maintenance and operations resources to solve problems and keep the plant running smoothly
- Other opportunities involve exposure to root cause investigations (RCI), process hazard analyses (PHA)
Job Requirements
About You…
To be successful in this role you must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) during a minimum 6 month assignment. We are looking for someone who is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Those pursuing a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering are preferred. Other skills we are looking for include:
- Ability to work safely and comply with all corporate/site EHS guidelines and policies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work and complete projects independently, as well as within a team environment.
- Demonstrated interest in the pharmaceutical or food industry.
