Position Summary

Credit Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the performance of a team of credit analysts, by coordinating Credit Department activities, hiring and training staff, scheduling and reviewing work, and monitoring/appraising staff performance. Credit Supervisors must be able to analyze complex financial information and credit structures. They also provide exemplary training and supervision in a manner necessary to encourage and motivate high quality performance from department staff to facilitate the best credit decision outcomes.

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Schedule and monitor daily work so as to maintain a smooth workflow within the department and achieve department objectives.
  • Motivate staff to learn job functions expediently and in a manner that creates desired opportunities for individual employees and loyalty to the bank
  • Guide staff to achieve high quality analysis that will facilitate best credit decision outcomes
  • Participate in preparation of loan applications for large and complex credit relationships
  • Participate in and guide regular and relevant training programs for department personnel
  • Provide oversight of the preparation of credit-related reports necessary for management to adequately assess portfolio quality and trends
  • Provide support to management in a variety of credit related activities and projects

Manager Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures department or branch compliance with all policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal regulations
  • Staffs all functions within department and ensures proper onboarding of new personnel
  • Takes actions that resolve conflicts and addresses complaints and problems quickly and effectively
  • Manages budget, invoices and employee expense reimbursements of the department or branch
  • Demonstrates the ability to independently make and communicate sound decisions based upon policies, knowledge, and experience
  • Establishes an environment that creates incentives for, and eliminates barriers to, a team environment
  • Makes appropriate strategic decisions to increase productivity, including creating a clear organizational structure, providing the necessary tools for the team to do their jobs, and creating repeatable processes that increase efficiency and reduce unnecessary variations
  • Ensures that departmental or branch goals are in alignment with those of the larger organization and department or branch performance is monitored to ensure success

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or equivalent of education and experience
  • 2 years' experience in Credit Analysis preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly: sitting, talking, hearing, vision - close, peripheral, depth, ability to adjust focus
  • Occasionally: standing, walking, feeling/touching, climbing and/or balancing, reaching with arms and hands, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, lifting objects up to 30 pounds
