Job Summary:

EMC Mechanical Services is searching for a Commercial Plumbing Mechanic to join our team! The Commercial Plumbing Mechanic is responsible for all aspects of commercial installations including, but not limited to: the complete installation of plumbing, water, and gas systems in a commercial setting. The Commercial Plumbing Mechanic will remain in clear communication with the job Foreman/Superintendent as needed to share progress. This individual will also assist in the development of Plumbing Helpers/Apprentices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Runs Med Gas piping.
• Wires and Brazes Low Voltage equipment.
• Installs Head Wall units.
• Runs/Makes connections to Booms.
• Performs material Take Offs.
• Reviews building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials.
• Identifies and safely uses required tools and special equipment.
• Selects the type and size of pipe required.
• Locates and marks positions for connections and fixtures.
• Installs supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment.
• Assembles and installs valves and fittings.
• Tests pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
• Maintains documentation for all building codes, installation requirements, and relevant legislation.
• Performs scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Applies all codes to installations, repairs, and maintenance.
• Ensures all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.
• Ensures all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded; that they meet the requirements of the appropriate codes; and that they meet environmental protection requirements.
• Prepares orders of supplies.
• Keeps daily reports.
• Schedules work in cooperation with other trades and team members.

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Commercial Plumbing industry.

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of basic electricity, electrical and control systems.
• Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check in correlation to the standards of Medical Facilities.
• Must adhere to all company policy and procedures.
• Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned, to include working varying schedules that may require extended hours and require client-specific safety standards.
• Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
