We are seeking to add an energetic, technically qualified, problem-solving, Multi-family Maintenance Technician for our newest luxury apartment community, The Jasper. The Jasper is located in beautiful and historic downtown Charleston.

Job Duties

  • Respond to service requests and maintenance emergencies from tenants and management.
  • Organize and prioritize service requests, emergencies, grounds work, and common area maintenance appropriately.
  • Set property goals with the Property Manager
  • Complete maintenance repairs related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pools, appliances, and drywall. Record work performed on service requests accurately and in detail.
  • Coordinate with various vendors to perform work on the properties which will not be handled in house, including painters, cleaners, pressure washers, roofers, fire and life safety, etc. Inspect the work of the vendors for satisfactory results.
  • Organize and manage the turn-over of 10 vacant apartments after move-out to get them into move-in-ready condition, minimizing unit down-time and ensuring smooth move-ins.
  • Identify, report, and correct any hazards found in the community. Keep the property and all equipment in safe condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop, manage the property’s supplies inventory, coordinate with the Property Manager to determine additional equipment needs of the community, and place orders with the Property Manager’s approval.
  • Organize on-call and weekend schedule of maintenance department.
  • Plan, manage, and complete additional projects delegated by the Property Manager.

Requirements

  • Experience: Apartment or Office maintenance experience. Supervisory or leadership experience a plus.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Certification: EPA (HVAC) and Pool certifications required. Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification a plus.
  • Physical: Ability to climb stairs. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Flexible schedule required, including weekend work and on-call.
  • Understanding of Fair Housing laws is required.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
