As the Commodity Manager for Electronic Components and Assembly, you will act as the subject matter expert for Electronics, including components and electronics manufacturing. You’ll lead the supply chain efforts, accountable for supplier performance in meeting the cost, schedule and technical needs of our business. In this position you will be relied on to work critical supplier escalations, coordinate with Buyers, Planners and Operations leadership to solve problems. We’ll rely on you to mentor Buyers and ensure that they conform with program contract terms, conditions, and other provisions including applicable federal regulations and business team objectives prior to signature/acceptance. You’ll facilitate the development of team/partner relationships with suppliers and develop and maintain relationships for long-term engagements that provide a competitive advantage to the business. Working directly with management to address all aspects of supply chain management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, pricing, and product availability, you’ll support proposal activities with innovative solutions to meet program needs and requirements. This will require building productive internal/external working relationships to coordinate purchasing activities to acquire products and services in the most cost effective and timely manner. In addition, you’ll review and analyze purchase requisitions and purchase orders, develop new supply sources, and continually recommend cost saving proposals or alternative sources.

What you bring to the table:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 10 years relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years relevant experience to meet managerial expectations
  • Expert in Electronic Component sourcing
  • Expert in Supplier Management with specific knowledge and experience managing Contract Manufacturers/Electronics Manufacturing Services.
  • Relationships with Electronics Distributors and Manufacturers that can be leveraged to support problem escalations and program development.
  • Strong understanding of the Electronics Market, component types and how they are manufactured.
  • Ability to grasp and understand General Dynamic’s Intellectual Property position and how to develop strategies to preserve our competitive position when procuring commodities, services and subcontracts
  • Strong knowledge in the applicable contractual flow downs, federal, state, Federal Acquisition Requirements/DFAR, and local laws, and the ability to apply them in the procurements of commodities, services, and subcontracts
  • Expert analytical and negotiation skills

Salary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. Combined Salary Range: USD $166,500.00 - USD $180,200.00 /Yr. Company Overview:
