A communications associate assists a marketing or advertising team with a variety of tasks. As a communications associate, you may be responsible for copywriting promotional materials, designing simple graphics, managing social media and outreach, launching email campaigns, researching media coverage, and promoting products. You also typically perform administrative duties as needed. Qualifications for this job include a mix of related skills and experience. Most employers require candidates to have a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a similar field. Completing internships at ad or marketing agencies helps to improve your career opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Create and develop Company designs and multimedia content, including graphics, social media shareables, videos, and animation.
Develop creative approaches to disseminating Company research and policy proposals to both new and existing audiences, through digital, print, Company spokespersons, and social media platforms.
Assist with media outreach, including organizing media contacts, developing talking points, identifying media opportunities, and securing media placements on behalf of Company spokespeople.
Support the day-to-day operations of Company’s communications function, including budgeting, planning, and maintaining a communications calendar.
Update Company’s website regularly to maintain fresh content, including publication releases and media hits.
Salary $22.25- $26.80 per hour Job Type

Required Experience:
Requirements:
Desire to work in a social justice-minded, advocacy environment;
A passion for, or personal connection to, equity, education, public policy or economic mobility issues, and storytelling.
Experience in public policy, communications, higher education, journalism, or another relevant field.
