We're looking for a detail-oriented, creative, and deadline-driven go-getter with a passion for social media and experience in online journalism to amplify the voices of our diverse catalog of publications. For this position, we are looking in particular for someone who has experience in developing great social content and an interest in amplifying the quality of our in-house content. This is a full time, contract position with an opportunity to join the staff based on performance.

What You Get to Do

Working alongside a team of in-house Editors, Writers and our Social Media Editor, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Editorial Team at large to amplify the engagement of our content via social media content. You'll also oversee the production of content that serves several marketing initiatives in a variety of formats, including editorial narratives, shopping listicles and trivia quizzes, but you'll primarily help us produce content created specifically to achieve various marketing goals.

Your writing and copy-editing skills will ensure the quality of existing and newly published content on our portfolio of sites, reaching our 100M+ monthly users that come to us for a variety of topics.

  • Work with internal and external teams to create and publish content across our various social media platforms
  • Providing marketing teams with opportunities to use internal top-performing content across initiatives
  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation
  • Observe social media reports to strategically generate new assets with our in-house design team
  • Provide quality control over outside content providers to ensure image guidelines and content quality is up to standard

What You Bring to Us

You are passionate about digital storytelling and understand how to edit for voice & tone and brand specifications to create an engaging user experience. You're a meticulous copywriter who can also see the bigger picture of strategic business goals. You're comfortable working in a fast-moving group where priorities are always shifting. You keep your cool and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines. You bring a critical eye to reading and revising, and can apply AMG's editorial guidelines to the review of highly-trafficked content.

  • 1-3 years of editorial/digital publishing experience
  • 2-4 years of experience managing social media accounts for brands
  • Experience editing for SEO and familiarity with basic SEO and marketing best practices
  • Excellent editorial judgment and a thorough grasp of how to edit for a variety of marketing initiatives
  • Experience editing a range of content types and formats, including editorial features, quizzes, and listicles
  • Experience selecting and editing images for publication
  • Familiarity with AP style
  • Interest in news, history, education and pop culture.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and meticulous
  • Ability to work against tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Great communication skills and ability to articulate concepts
