JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Build relationships and partner with residents, local agencies, elected officials, and community stakeholders. These partnerships will help to identify areas where host site housing and community development solutions can intersect with the community’s identified aspirations.
- Identify community improvement projects and plan and execute projects for successful completion (ex. Community clean ups, community garden, ABWK projects, etc.)
- Work to develop volunteer base through building community awareness; provide on-going volunteer orientations.
- Regularly attend meetings. Examples include local governance, community beautification, health and social service meetings, and resident meetings.
- Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of the plan through our survey tool, Success Measures.
- Build understanding of and support and collaborating with staff from other departments
- Develop a smart and effective plan for social media outlets, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, blogs and the Google suite of products (including AdWords). Be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of social media plan.
- Build and sustain working relationships and communication with community associations; housing advocates and coalitions; business leaders; lenders; grant funders; faith based organizations and churches; school administrators, schools, universities and youth groups; and other institutions.
- Work to implement a database for contacts/volunteers/donors.
- Serve as the liaison to other community groups identified by the Executive Director and/or work plan.
- Work with other like-minded community groups to identify and prioritize community issues.
- Develop strategies to engage community residents in housing related issues.
- Work with local media outlets to get the word out , including press releases.
- Provide timely and accurate records and reports from community outreach efforts
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- At least 1-2 years of professional experience working with volunteers, donors and/or community outreach activities
- Proven management and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills and a professional attitude; ability to present to large groups
- Ability to connect with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work and manage multiple priorities on deadline
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with public and private entities in order to maximize affiliate strategic goals and plans
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to think strategically and programmatically
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and on top of social media trends
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary, Internship
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
