JOB SUMMARY:

The Community Worker works with youth who are deferred prosecution agreements, and are at risk of having their agreements revoked due t some form of noncompliance. This position also works with families referred from Kenosha County Child Protective Services to maintain safety in homes where children are at risk of removal. The Community Worker provides services to preserve safety, including: parenting skills, household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, education, employment, medical health, mental health, and substance use issues.

SALARY: $18.00 an hour

OFFICE LOCATION: Office is based in Kenosha, WI with flexibility to work remote. Position works a hybrid model of time spent at the office/remote and working in-person with clients in the Kenosha community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct in person home visits two to three times a week to monitor compliance.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all client community service projects.
  • Monitor school attendance, performance and behavior, and report on behavioral summary.
  • Facilitate set up and monitoring of youth referred for Electronic Leg Monitoring (ELM) programming.
  • Analyze client situations, capabilities and problems to determine services required to control safety threats.
  • Provide face-to-face contact with families, per program standards, to ensure safety and cooperation with safety plan.
  • Safely transport clients as needed.
Requirements:
  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Must have at minimum an Associate's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other related field.
  • One year of direct service or case management experience is required.
