Position: ERI Compliance and Assistant to the Project Director
Reports to: ERI Project Director
Full-time position
Salary: $45,000 + Fringe benefits
The EcoExploratorio, Inc. is a non-profit educational and charitable community organization.
Its purpose is to establish, maintain and operate STEM (science, technology, engineering
and mathematics) and resilience programs through different platforms. These range from a science museum, to promoting and developing the study of science and related disciplines in Puerto Rico. EcoExploratorio advances the scientific literacy and resiliency of the population and strengthens Puerto Rico's workforce. EcoEx is a one-stop center that offers capacity building for all ages on resilience, science, technology, mathematics and engineering in Puerto Rico. Our mission is to inspire people to explore, share and protect the natural environment through science, engineering, mathematics and technology.
The EcoExploratorio: Resilience Institute of Puerto Rico (ERI-PR) is a FEMA funded program that offers an innovative three-year mitigation and resilience initiative to address the challenges and needs Puerto Rico faces from natural hazards. EcoExploratorio has collaborative partnerships with organizations and community leaders, experts, and scientists in the areas of mitigation, public health, natural hazards, climate change and communications. ERI-PR has two main components: 1. a specialized program that carries out formal training and certifications, and 2. the integration of low-income and high-risk communities to provide them with knowledge, resources and skills through training, community fairs, public campaigns, and a mobile educational unit.
EcoExploratorio requires the qualifications of candidates to occupy the ERI-Compliance and Assistant to the Project Director position, whom will be key to the execution of the three-year FEMA funded project. Below are the responsibilities of the person occupying the position as well as minimum requirements (academic and experience).
Responsibilities
- Handle a broad range of executive support activities for the day-to-day operations of ERI Project Director.
- Work together with ERI Project Director and maintain a direct and close line of communication to ensure effective program implementation.
- Perform compliance related audits to keep ERI Project Director informed of daily workflow and current processes.
- Provide regular reports to ERI Project Director regarding compliance with FEMA regulations.
- Create and manage effective communication systems to keep staff informed of the organization’s activities, programs, and events.
- Supervise staff and activities.
- Oversee staff and contractual compliance with roles and assigned activities including timeliness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of three years of previous relative experience
- Evidence of strong project management skills
- Fully bilingual (written and spoken) – Spanish and English
- Experience working with nonprofit boards
- Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Meeting planning and travel management experience
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Capacity to work remote and on-site.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per month
