Come join us in Sunny South Florida and work with a great team of Engineers, Technicians, Operators and Support Staff! Relocation Assistance Available. Just 4 miles from Fort Lauderdale's beaches, Dayton Granger, Inc design, produce and supply cutting edge avionics products in support of current and upcoming programs for commercial, general aviation and military customers.

The Composite Process Engineer position will focus on process development to support new and existing Dayton Granger products. They will support and improve current manufacturing processes. Identify, approve, and implement materials related to composite products based on new composite production technology. Design and create new process flow and work instructions with the correct process lead times, capacity analysis, and resources (machines and labor). Assist in the development and implementation of advanced production processes and tooling methodologies. Develop and execute engineering evaluation plans for experimental or analysis of new materials, new processes or new improvements. Assist in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies.

Special Skills/training required for the Composites Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment working with composites
  • Strong technical background in composites fabrication, compression molding and composite materials, characterization and defect/failure analysis.
  • Knowledge of a complete structural bonding operations using film adhesives, core materials, and adhesives during composite lay-up, cure and post cure using presses, ovens or autoclaves.
  • Strong Analytical Skills and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Proven leadership abilities, and strong written & verbal communication
