Southwark Metal Manufacturing, located in Northeast Philadelphia, is looking for a Computer Technician to join our growing team!

The Computer Technician will provide knowledge and support to ensure hardware, network, and software systems are implemented and supported effectively throughout the company. The ideal candidate will understand the need to work collaboratively with the IT Director to schedule and manage daily workload, special projects, and other tasks as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Provide end-user support to remedy computer, audio/visual, primary network, printing, and other technology-related issues in a timely and professional manner. Solutions may be provided remotely or onsite as appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with the IT Director to schedule and manage daily workload, special projects, and other tasks as needs change.
• Responsible for assisting, configuring, installing new devices, and assisting with inventory management.
• Provide backup support and troubleshooting on networking systems hardware, software, printing, and A/V.
• Provide an exemplary and professional interface between the IT department and all users by sending and receiving email, phone, and in-person communications to ensure that information flow is accurate, timely, and professional across the company.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum of three years experience supporting Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in supporting Windows OS client computing environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot fundamental networking issues.
• Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced technical environment.
• Ability to provide practical support to all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work well with technical and non-technical users.

Qualifications:

• Must have good analytical thinking skills and attention to detail.
• 1+ years experience in technical support or customer service role is desired.
• Exemplify strong attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and brainstorm creative solutions to complex problems is essential.
• Must have strong time management skills and work productively with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity and understanding of the functions of basic computer hardware and software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a cooperative attitude are a must.
• Ability to explain technical problems in layman's terms.

Work Environment:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Additional Requirements:

• Associate Degree with one yea of relevant technical work experience, or High School graduate with a minimum of one year of applicable technical work experience.
