General Purpose:
Utilizes the conflicts database to screen and report findings of all names connected to potential and existing clients. Liaise within Ethics and Business Intake on special assignments. To be considered for the position, ALL INTERESTED CANDIDATES MUST SUBMIT a cover letter; and 2) a current resume.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Searches and prepares reports on names submitted through various search requests and highlight potential conflicts.
  • Conducts initial review of screening memos to ensure necessary approval and proper documentation is attached.
  • Processes rejected matters and files related documentation.
  • Assists with inactivation matters in the client/matter database and modifies formats of names to conform to standard.
  • Compiles and circulates daily lists of names searched.
  • Responds to department emails as needed.
  • Assists the Department with changes to testing and implementation of software systems used by the department as requested.
  • Special projects as needed in the department.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):

  • High level of proficiency using personal computers, database software, Windows and Word. Experience with Aderant Expert or Intapp a plus.
  • Highly analytical and skilled at database searching with attention to detail, and experience in the legal environment preferred.
  • Good spelling, writing and proofreading skills.
  • Above average typing and ten-key skills.
  • Requires good organizational and planning skills to prioritize and handle detailed and repetitive work, and to assess, recommend and implement improved work procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow instructions, apply good judgment, think independently and “on their feet” when circumstances dictate, and seeking advice when necessary.
  • Requires good interpersonal/communication skills to work effectively with personnel at all levels within the firm.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary to meet departmental deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.
