Construction Safety Manager
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Planning, implementing, tracking, training, and supervising company safety programs to ensure compliance with the company’s safety program.
- Assist and coordinate functions of the comprehensive Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) to include both field and shop operations.
- Oversee investigation of all site accidents/injuries; and as directed by the Director of Safety regarding incident/accident reports, investigations, and log recordability.
- Ensure compliance with Company, State, and Federal regulations and guidelines regarding to occupational safety & health.
- Perform safety survey audits and site inspections to identify and evaluate occupational health, safety, and environmental conditions.
- Assist in the development of control systems for identified hazards including JHA, Pre-Task Plans, and environmental safety compliance.
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries.
- Assist with the implementation and daily maintenance of compliance programs related to hazardous wastes, Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position.
Minimum required education and/or formal training, years of experience, competencies, skills, and/or specific knowledge:
- Three to Five years of related experience in construction safety and general industry safety.
- 4-year degree in applicable field desirable but not mandatory.
- Must be familiar with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), California Title 8, EPA, and other federal or state standards.
- Self-motivated individual, team player with the ability to lead and coach teams, workgroups, or subordinates
- Skilled in the standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the CAL OSHA Title 8 3203 safety and environmental fields.
- Professional certifications required to maintain employment OSHA 500 and STSC
- Job requires certification in fall protection, forklift, lead exposure, respiratory protection, silica standards, rigging, and cranes.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written (Training Presentations and Report Writing) Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
