The Ideal Candidate for our Construction Superintendent:

Takes personal responsibility and pride for promoting and ensuring site safety, schedule, and a comprehensive knowledge for the day to day field operations of this project to include planning, coordinating, sequencing work, procurement of materials, and supervising subcontractors and vendors to ensure the work is completed on time, within budget.

Has solid experience in the commercial construction industry. (minimum 8 years)

Has technical knowledge in a wide range of commercial construction markets.

This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

This position requires a proactive individual who has a sense of urgency with experienced foresight to address issues that may be problematic as the project unfolds.

Responsibilities:

  • The planning, scheduling, implementation & coordination of a quality built corporate housing facility from development through the final construction on a timely & economical basis.
  • Involvement in managerial oversight of project from dirt to occupancy.
  • Selection, coordination, oversight & management of people, materials, budgets, schedules & contracts.
  • Direct & monitor the progress of a variety of projects.
  • Construction experience to recognize visual issues that may be problematic and work ahead to get them resolved before they occur.
  • Oversee the scheduling, delivery & use of materials, the quality of construction, worker productivity & compliance with building/safety codes. Maintain safe, clean and compliant job sites.
  • Understand contracts, plans, construction methods & regulations.
  • Track & control construction costs against the budget in order to avoid cost overruns.
  • Prepare daily, monthly & quarterly reports.
  • Locate, negotiate pricing, obtain insurance info and scope of work for various labor needs.
  • Schedule and manage subcontractors and sub-contractor relationships in order to build the corporate housing facility on schedule and close on time.
  • Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and create awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Investigates safety incidents and retrains staff and needed.
  • Provides management of subcontractors and organization of the overall job and workflow.
  • Coordinates and manages the care, custody and control of the project site.
  • Creates, manages, changes and implements the project’s schedule as needed.
  • Responsible for tracking and monitoring project budget and costs by using the system’s cost reports and data from the project’s construction accountant.
  • Communicates key project information to owners, design team, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers and other departments.
  • Follows the project filing and documentation organization system as dictated for the project. Updates drawings, logs, diaries and inspection notebooks.
  • Approves and/or records unit cost information for weekly reports and completes daily reports, logs and tracking reports.
  • Evaluates progress on self-perform work and make adjustments as needed.
  • Manages material and equipment needs for the project..
  • Assists in the selection of the formwork, tools and equipment necessary to complete self-perform operations.
  • Manages timecard approval process to ensure reporting of accurate hours and proper cost codes.
  • Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.
  • Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years commercial/multi family construction experience.
  • 3+ years field supervision experience.
  • Construction related College Degree, High School Diploma/GED, or Equivalent Experience
  • Technical knowledge in a wide range of commercial construction markets.
  • A minimum average of 5 years of tenure at your previous companies.
  • We require background checks.
  • 3+ letters of recommendation.
  • Computer Proficient in the following: Excel, MS Project Plangrid, BIM360

Salary:

75,000 – 95,000+ depending on experience/qualifications
