Summary:

The Aerial Telecommunications Construction Supervisor is responsible for coordination, delegation, supervision and quality control of onsite work including responsibility for performance and productivity of aerial construction crews.


The Aerial Telecommunications Construction Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of multiple construction crews and subcontractors, while they are engaged in the construction of Telecom communications systems. You will assist OSP Design Engineers with tracking, reporting and key metrics to help them understand production and milestone status for projects. You will present your data and status to upper management.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for planning work for multiple construction crews. Ensure project specific needs are acquired prior to work starting.
  • Ability to set up jobs for most effective daily production.
  • Responsible for ensuring that materials issuances, usage and reporting is consistent with company policies and practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring that company tools and equipment is properly used, stored and maintained.
  • Coordinate utility locates and understand clearances from the other utilities, ground, road, highway, sidewalk and non-pedestrian areas.
  • Captures crew production each day and reports to Construction Manager.
  • Prepare and monitor the progress of the work accomplished relative to the production schedule.
  • Manage crews to ensure productivity requirements are maintained or exceeded.
  • Monitor quality of work and assure that correct construction procedures are followed, and that work follows the plans and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret network prints
  • Ensures that all work sites are safely set up and all work is executed safely
  • Understand and follow OSHA safety requirements to complete the job(s) safely and efficiently
  • Communicate by phone frequently throughout the workday

Education:


  • High school diploma or its equivalent.

Experience:


  • Combination of technical training and/or experience
  • 1-2 years leadership experience
  • 3-5 years overall experience in a construction environment
  • Previous experience in a construction environment preferred
  • Must be able to meet physical requirement of the position
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass drug, background, DOT & MVR screenings

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing duties, the employee will work primarily in the field. The employee may be required to work outdoors in all types of weather and may be exposed to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels.
  • However, there may be times that will require the employee to work outdoors in all types of weather and may be exposed to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels.
  • The employee may be required to travel within the United States up to 75% of the time and may be required to stay away from home up to 14 days at a time.
