POSITION SUMMARY:

Incumbent serves as a facilitator of continuous improvement implementation and employee involvement throughout Environmental Solutions Group, serving all products and brands at all company locations. The primary objective of the Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager is to create and/or sustain a beneficial change culture within its sites and employee population in order to drive attainment of long-term business strategies and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives as manifested through the Continuous Improvement Plan. Focuses plant/organization leadership and employee teams on assessment, planning, actions, and measurement using tools and methods that drive waste elimination and reduce variation resulting in operational and product savings, productivity gains and alignment with AOP objectives. Will develop and own CI/Cost Reduction AOP in conjunction with Site Leadership Team.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Prepares, executes, revises, and measures progress on the Continuous Improvement Plan targeted at AOP and performances programs / initiatives.
  • Facilitates continuous improvement intervention and employee involvement throughout the plant and cooperatively with Engineering and Procurement within the supply community; may support other related sites and organizations.
  • Identifies opportunities to implement common processes and best-demonstrated practices from other sites and businesses; disseminates and acts upon relevant industry and corporate benchmarking data.
  • Once the project is identified, establishes cross-functional team.
  • Assures that process improvements and benefits employ visual management and that actions are driven to closure and sustained while being made visual to stakeholders.
  • Assures that predicted savings are tracked, validated, and posted to the plant’s operating results.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and training in lean thinking and lean production, variation reduction, problem solving and avoidance and people/team strategies.
  • Updates plant and corporate management on project status. Prepares report upon completion of the projects.
  • Incorporate operational excellence (0DOVER) initiatives into CI plans.
  • Leads 0DOVER initiatives and implementation objectives. Will be SME in this regard.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Successful completion of needed Lean Leader training modules, or structured development plan for same; prior exposure to and use of Lean Production tools and/or Six Sigma tools helpful.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience (Project management and Operational Excellence).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Flexible to learn various integrated CRM and ERP software packages.
  • Candidate should have strong analytical and technical abilities, including extensive training and understanding of lean/six-sigma tools. Black Belt certification is a plus.
  • Ability to envision the future end state, acts as a role model to champion change, values learning, builds employee effectiveness, fosters open communication, drives for execution excellence, drives for business results.
  • Must be able to handle multiple wide range tasks.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with senior internal and external customers as well as end-users of related products and services.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects at once and to complete quality work in a timely manner.
  • Skillful in communicating difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Understand justification of capital expenditures and writing of capital expenditure projects driving CI/CR plans.
