Contracts Manager/Paralegal

Position: Temporary with potential to grow into a full-time role.

OVERVIEW:

Movement Strategy is an independent social media agency. Now at its 14-year, with 125+ employees across offices, we produce groundbreaking content for partners including Netflix, Klarna, Amazon Prime Video, and Warner Bros.

Our Contracts Manager or Paralegal is dedicated, organized, knowledgeable, and familiar with the industry, as well as legal operations and practices.

KEY FOCUS AREAS

Working closely with the legal department and other team members, the Contracts Manager or Paralegal will:

• Collaborate with legal and other internal team members in drafting, preparation, and creation of contracts, in accordance with Movement policies and procedures, based on terms provided by clients
• Support/partner with legal in redlining, negotiation, basic review, and interpretation of contracts, with potential to grow and take on more responsibility within the legal department for redlining and negotiations
• Assist in creation and implementation of contract processes
• Coordinate contract administration lifecycle, including responding to and tracking inbound requests, and routing to team members for handling, archiving and maintaining confidentiality of all work material
• Support in creation and maintenance of Business Affairs department files and contracts management systems (via Dropbox, Google Suite, Asana, etc.)

IMMEDIATE: CLIENT-PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES

You will assist in drafting contracts for various client campaigns and projects. A sample range of items you'll own include:

• Verifying all deal terms, and following up with both internal and client teams as needed for any additional information required for the contract drafting process
• Selecting appropriate forms/templates for each matter being contracted, and/or working with legal to create new forms as needed
• Drafting each contract assigned in accordance with all deal terms and relevant information
• Ensuring that all deal terms have been properly incorporated into each draft agreement, and all situation-specific scenarios have been addressed (i.e., making sure to address all potential issues that may arise for each type of contract)
• Proofreading and editing as necessary

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years experience in contract drafting and management
• Experience in the influencer marketing and/or entertainment industry highly preferred
• Strong analytical capabilities to determine issues that may arise and anticipate/address such issues in advance
• Strong communication and drafting skills
• Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in MS office, Google Suite, Apple tools
• For paralegal, certification required
