RSM helps students of all levels become more confident in math and develop a deeper understanding of the subject.

We are seeking a highly analytical, motivated and organized Controller to join RSM as a key member of the leadership team and to oversee its accounting and internal controls. Provide day-to-day management of the company’s accounting and reporting activities as well as establishing a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial result, and ensure that reported results comply with accepted accounting principles and international reporting standards.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting systems and functions: Collection, AP and Cash Reconciliation
  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions in compliance with GAAP; maintain an orderly system of accounting records and files; oversee posting of general journal entries
  • Lead monthly and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Consolidate US and worldwide results in accordance with GAAP
  • Effectively manage, provide guidance and develop Collection and AP team employees
  • Establish best practices, monitor, enhance and enforce accounting policies and procedures and a comprehensive set of internal controls designed to mitigate risk
  • Lead calculation of Principals Compensation packages
  • Manage and simplify monthly accruals
  • Document practices and processes to develop financial training materials
  • Build collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders within RSM
  • Complete various special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-10 years of progressive hands-on accounting managerial experience
  • Exceptional organization, flexibility and attention to detail
  • Strong quantitative and financial reporting skills
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP and international reporting standards
  • Demonstrated effective management and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to learn new systems, develop financial/accounting procedures/process changes and champion change
  • Ability to delegate, work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
  • Proficiency with various accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be flexible and able to thrive in a multi-cultural and fast -pace setting
