POSITION PURPOSE

Analyzes and troubleshoots all electrical process equipment. Responsible for all facets of controls and instrumentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Analyzes and troubleshoots electrical equipment problems when necessary.
  • Responsible for repair, calibration, and maintenance of all instrumentation, including such units as the RSI, Hydrogen Analyzer, Ircon, ACT Thickness Gauge, etc.
  • Provides user and maintenance training on all electrical equipment.
  • Providers training and education for plant maintenance personnel on advanced troubleshooting skills necessary to be successful in repairing and calibrating electrical control and monitoring systems.
  • Perform advanced-level, complex and technical work in testing, installation, calibration, maintenance and repair of all pneumatic, electronic, hydraulic, and electrical control and monitoring systems.
  • Performs advanced troubleshooting of plant equipment through use of prints and programs associated with the facility.
  • Assists and supports the management and improvement of production efficiency from a controls standpoint.
  • Assists in root cause analysis of line problems.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as directed.
  • Comply with project procedure, maintenance manual procedure, training procedure, general engineering specifications, electrical specifications and all local, state and national codes and regulations.
  • Follow and comply with all local and national electric codes as prescribed by NEC (NFPA 70) and all electrical safety requirements are prescribed by NFPA-70E. Follow and comply with all current and future Arc Flash and electrical PPE requirements as prescribed by the plant electrical safety program.

KEY POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and control-related fields or 1 year of experience with an associate degree or higher in related field.
  • Familiarity with Allan Bradley PLCs and software (PLC5, SLC 5/00 - 5/05, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio5000).
  • Familiarity with Allan Bradley HMI software (RsView32, Panel builder, etc.).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Power Distribution Systems and Control Systems knowledge.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting AC/DC drive systems, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

PREFERRED CANDIDATES WILL ALSO HAVE

  • Familiarity of Automate and Automax control systems.
  • Familiarity with FactoryLink HMI software.
