Responsibilities

Prepares meals for patients, cafeteria, doctors dining room and special functions. Applies Dignity Core Values to the performance of every job duty. These Values include Dignity, Collaboration, Justice, Stewardship, and Excellence.

Standards
1.1 Prepares and cooks food according to standardized recipes and production sheets for patients, cafeteria, doctors dining room and/or special functions.
1.2 Always uses disposable gloves and hairnet/hat.
1.3 Maintains organized, clean work area.
1.4 Labels and dates all food items, storing properly.
1.5 Food prepared is attractive and of good quality.
1.6 Demonstrates ability to use/operate necessary equipment.
1.7 Demonstrates working knowledge of food service sanitation & hygiene.
1.8 Consistently prevents waste of product; practices cost control.
1.9 Works well with other employees to get the job done.
1.10 Serves hot foods on trayline in a safe, sanitary and attractive manner.
1.11 Taking food temperature on a regular basic, and record the food temperature on the production sheet.
1.12 Adheres to Departmental & CHW Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications

REQUIRES:
  • 2-4 years experience in volume cooking, preferably in a hospital or hotel.
  • High school or Trade School graduate.
  • Complete annual safety training. Complete and maintain department specific training.
  • Ability to read and write English.
