Red Twig Café is seeking passionate, hard-working, and professional individuals to join our back-of-house staff! We specialize in serving the best brunch in Edmonds, including hearty and healthy breakfast and lunch as well as house-roasted coffee, and scratch made pastries.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the prep list created by managers to plan duties
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, breakfast food, sandwiches etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Skills

  • 1 year of quick service or kitchen experience required. Breakfast experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Good physical condition and endurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; Training from a culinary school will be an asset

Compensation

The base pay for cooks is $19-$22 per hour, depending on experience and availability, with tips ranging from $3-$8/hour.

Pay is evaluated openly and often, to ensure our staff is taken care of and payed appropriately.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour
