Coolest Job In Indy (we make mortgages fun)
Job description
Are you a Loan Officer? Then we may want you. No seriously, we may not. We are currently looking for experience loan officers who want a change.
Do you ever just have that feeling that wells up in you (no, not the mistake you ate for lunch), but that feeling that says—What if I just did it? What if I quit thinking inside the box and went and did the thing?
I mean, you get up, you go to a job that you don’t love, sit behind a desk you don’t like, and pick up Tony’s slack to save yourself the grief of another talking to from the ole’ boss. Or, heck, maybe your situation isn’t all that bad… you work a job you don’t hate, you get paid every Tuesday, you have nice family pic and a succulent on your desk and even meet Karen for a drink after work here and there. Life is just fine. If you’re happy with just fine, then cool, keep it up, but if you’re realizing that you only get one life and you want more from it then keep reading. (You’re going to keep reading either way, aren’t you…)
What’s holding you back from those big dreams to have the career you really want.. to work for yourself, to take the vacation (or three), to buy the car, to send the kids to college… What’s stopping you? Because a big dream is really just a few practical steps that you are perfectly capable of taking.
It’s time to reinvent yourself. Put one foot in front of the other and just go after it.
We are looking for go getters, for self-starters, for not- afraid- to bet-on-myself kind of people. We are looking for people who want to love their job and meet their financial goals doing it.
We are in the helping people business, and we happen to do mortgages. (There it is, we know you were starting to wonder what the job actually was.)
We believe that financial services don't have to be boring, stale, and tired. We make friends, and help those friends make good decisions.
We know: this doesn’t sound boring enough to be real. Well, we don’t want to attract boring. We want to attract you.
Want something different? Do something different. Jeff did it. Janet did it. Deb did it. Heck, Jessica even did it and she plays golf for god’s sake.
Interested? Call us. Indeed won’t let us post the number, but you're ambitious, I'm positive you can find it. Or slide into our DMs on social. Don't lazy-out and send an email like the other 800 drones. (Unless it includes a copy machine pic of your face, then absolutely send an email.) Here is an article about us from the Indy star. It either sounds "you" or it doesn't. Either way, I hope we get to call you a friend.
Riding out a hurricane in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, might not sound like the ideal team-building activity, but for the employees of the Parker Mortgage Team in Noblesville, it did turn out to be a pretty unique bonding experience.
Relationship-building has been a staple of Partin’s business model at the mortgage company, and just one of the many reasons it was ranked first in the small employer category in the 2017 Top Workplaces survey for Central Indiana companies. It’s the third consecutive top five ranking for the company in the annual survey conducted by WorkplaceDynamics for IndyStar.
Seeing workplace relationships flourish outside the office and creating an atmosphere where people love to come to work is especially rewarding to him and his wife, Tawni.
“There was never a day where we said, ‘In order to not lose people, this is what we’re going to do.’ There was never that conversation,” he said. “We always just wanted build the type of place we wanted to work. And we want to build the types of relationships that we want to have. How we’re going to do that is by constantly doing things to reinforce relationships and the environment in which we work.”
Maintaining the culture is of vital importance to the Partins. Their selective hiring process recently netted no new hires, despite 140 applications and more than a dozen individual interviews. Partin says the company is “picky” and insists on 100 percent agreement from all team members before a new employee comes on board.
The Parker Mortgage Team now has new office space in downtown Noblesville. Partin describes the former industrial warehouse-turned office as the “coolest space in downtown Noblesville for sure,” and said it gives the company an additional 1,500 square feet of space. Part of that space has been outfitted with gym equipment, allowing employees to drop gym memberships.
Partin says he is a big believer in figuring out what makes people tick, what makes them happy and then working within the strengths of individual employees.
“I don’t want the kind of 9-to-5 world where people check out and go home and stare at the clock dreading the next day,” he said. “There shouldn’t be any Sunday afternoon blues because they have to go to work tomorrow.”
