    JOB TITLE:
    Coordinator of School Safety and Security

    JOB GOAL: The Coordinator of School Safety and Security develops, coordinates, and supervises the School safety and security duties with schools, educational offices and local law enforcement agencies.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree with five (5) or more years of experience in law enforcement, safety, and/or security preferred
    • Professional experience in security, safety, and/or school leadership
    • Demonstrated ability in effective communication, human relations, and problem-solving
    • Knowledge of state and federal grant programs
    • Knowledge in Emergency Response Management and coordination with local agencies
    • Knowledge of Arizona and applicable federal laws preferred
    • Experience in working with students, parents, district staff and community members
    • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills
    • ?Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12- Month, Vacation Days: Per policy GCD, General Leave Days: per policy GCCA
    COMPENSATION: $75,795 - $103,748
    BENEFITS: As per District policy
    REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support Services
    EVALUATION: Per District Policy
    HOURS: 40 hours per week, may require longer hours
    CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Coordinate district safety and security services with local law enforcement agencies and other service agencies
    • Plan and direct activities of assigned security and attendance personnel
    • Coordinate and organize QCPD active shooter drill training
    • Ensure ALICE training is implemented at all school sites and departments
    • Plan and execute campus audit/analysis on secure practices and procedures that deter unwanted visitors, active shooters, threats to student safety, and staff
    • Establish and direct command post communication systems during crisis or emergency situations
    • Monitor the district tip line and securly software; report received information to school principals and law enforcement
    • Conduct safety tabletop exercises with all responding agencies biannually
    • Oversee the school resource officer grant
    • Coordinate with local transportation departments pertaining to school zone laws and traffic concerns
    • Conduct and maintain accurate records of required fire, safety, and lockdown drills
    • Coordinate with outside emergency services on their incident command systems (ICS)
    • Plan and implement programs in the area of security, safety and attendance
    • Develop department budget and exercise control over approved budget
    • Advise school district administrators on security and protective measures and conduct in-service programs for school site personnel
    • Provide for continuing department staff training programs in security techniques and procedures
    • Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
    • Maintain current knowledge of security camera surveillance systems and computer device monitoring systems
    • Maintain current knowledge of emergency management technology and best practices
    • Maintain current knowledge of codes, rules, and regulations related to school safety
    • Other duties as assigned
