Job Title/Position: School Improvement Coordinator Department/School: District Administration

Primary Purpose:

The School Improvement Coordinator assist principals and school leadership teams in the effective implementation of a systematic approach to
improving education and learning for all children; coordinate the Professional Learning needs and accreditation processes across the campuses identified
for school improvement to include working with campus Instructional Coaches, Teachers, and District Instructional Directors, Coordinators, and
Specialists; collaborate with district staff in removing barriers that may hinder the improvement process; provide oversight of State and Federal
programs for campuses in school improvement for the purpose of ensuring programs are administered with maximized student academic outcomes in

mind. Provide a district view of program areas and develop strategies for continuous improvement.

This position will provide critical support to prevent, prepare for, or respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, including its impact on the
social, emotional, mental health, and academic needs of students. Funds for this position are expected to be available for a limited
time. In addition to other specified conditions of employment, the applicant understands that no guarantee of continued employment,

Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification):

Bachelor’s degree, 2 years of teacher experience. Experience coordinating and developing continuous improvement efforts is preferred, but not
required.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a support and liaison to assigned schools in the school improvement process.
2. Monitor and support progress towards accomplishment of school improvement goals and objectives, including ensuring the participation of all

relevant staff in the continuous school improvement process.

3. Provide effective and frequent communication with schools and C&I Department Leaders.
4. Provide support and feedback to principals as needed or requested.
5. Support teachers in the implementation of the school improvement plan, data reviews, Tier 2 and 3 student grouping, lesson design and PLC

processes.

6. Support and lead district school improvement initiatives, (i.e. assessment plan, Effective Schools Framework).
7. Support the teaching and learning staff and teachers to make purposeful curriculum adjustments for students, enhancing their engagement

and outcomes.

8. Conduct classroom observations in order to apprise program and instructional effectiveness at Tier 1, 2, and 3 levels.
9. Develop and manage processes to track the longitudinal achievement of students and ensure that data is used to inform effective teaching

practice and as a measure of school improvement.

10. Participate in administrative and curricula meetings for administrators, supervisors, and department chairs.
11. Gather, prepare, and facilitate analysis of specific data needed to monitor the impact of improvement plans on student achievement.
12. Identify, encourage, and support innovative ideas that result in improvement in the schools.
13. Conduct PLC visits and work with district coordinators and building leadership teams to design plans for improvement of the PLC process.
14. Take an active role in problem-solving with school and/or district leadership teams.
15. Manage documentation, plan, and budget of State and Federal programs as it relates to school improvement at assigned campuses.
16. Assist principals in developing climates of excellence and effective engagement with parents and the community
17. Perform other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the superintendent or designee may assign
18. Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to utilize appropriate technology software, equipment, and devices
  • Ability to collaborate across contents, grade levels and locations
  • Ability to monitor and balance multiple tasks
