Description:GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conducts outreach activities in assigned counties including speaking engagements, community expos and senior fairs.
2. Recruits, trains, and monitors clients and program volunteers in assigned duties.
3. Ensures coverage of necessary functions.
4. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Functions as independent coordinator of volunteer program including the onboarding and supervision of multiple volunteers.
  • Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of program volunteers and clients. Ensures that all volunteers are oriented to established program policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for ongoing contact and follow through on volunteer inquiries, tracking of potential volunteers and volunteer application documents.
  • Attends initial meetings with volunteer and clients and provides orientation to clients regarding the program, generally over the phone.
  • Monitors volunteer/client matches ensuring clients services are provided as expected.
  • Review and approve volunteer records and documentation.
  • Responsible follow through on client recruitment, referrals, intake and completing and monitoring volunteer/client matches and or placements.
  • Represents the agency and provides information about and promotes program through active participating with community agencies/organizations; maintains cooperative working relationships with a variety of community organizations and agencies.
  • Represents the agency at community fairs, senior expos and speaking engagements in an effort to recruit volunteers and potential clients.
  • Assist in the formal and regular recognition of volunteers, organizations, and individuals who have contributed support to the program.
  • Accurately maintains appropriate computer database and client and volunteer file records.
  • Maintains awareness of current information on programs and services available to older adults and persons with disabilities.
  • Attend staff meetings, conference and training programs as recommended by supervisor.
  • Active participant in Agency and program quality improvement processes.
  • Active participant in ongoing communication and evaluation of program performance with funding source.
  • Understands and follows Service Standards provided by funding source and ensures the appropriate implementation by staff and volunteers.
  • Informs supervisor of any challenges, problems, or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Plans workday to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position; or a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. All degrees must come from a regionally accredited educational institution which has U.S. Department of Education approval.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in similar or related work is preferred.
  • Prior volunteer management experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with older adults or persons with disabilities is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with co-workers and other community agencies.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Passage of complete background clearance, and any other required testing or clearances.
