Collegis Education is seeking a diligent and dynamic part-time Corporate Contracts Paralegal for approximately 20 hours per week. This position will perform a variety of paralegal duties while reporting to the AVP and General Counsel with exposure to many aspects of the business. The primary job role focus areas are management of company-wide contracts (vendors, contractors, NDAs) and the contract management system, along with as-needed projects and assignments.

Work Environment: Collegis has an “office intentional” office work policy: any in-office work should be for intentional collaboration and interaction with co-workers. As of now, the Legal team works in-office at the Oak Brook, IL location every Thursday and works remotely the remainder of the work week and this Paralegal role is expected to work from the Oak Brook, IL location every Thursday for collaboration and meetings with the Legal team and others.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages contracts and contract lifecycles including template development, contract management software administration and updating, management and roll-out; contract review and redlining with attorney review; managing contract execution and filing, and management of the contract life (e.g. contract term notices and management, auto-renewal management). Primary contract types are vendor contracts, contractor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and master service agreements for customers.
  • Initial project: selecting and supporting the implementation of a new contract management system.
  • Additional as-needed projects include management of intellectual property lifecycle and portfolios, state compliance filings (annual reports), and other special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, ABA Approved Paralegal Certificate, or 5+ years progressive experience in an in-house corporate legal department or law firm.
  • Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a corporate legal department with increasing levels of responsibility and strong interest in contract management.
  • Skills & Abilities – Required:
  • Experience reviewing basic commercial contracts such as vendor and contractor agreements and NDAs.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word (styles, multi-level numbering, redlining) and Adobe Acrobat (split, merge, and redacting),
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service for both internal and external constituents: professional, timely, and thorough.
  • Skills & Abilities – Preferred:
  • Experience with contract management software
