A private institution in Virginia is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Night shit opportunity with their Correctional Health team in Henry County.
Responsibilities:The Correctional Health LPN will:
- Provide total healthcare to offenders (routine, chronic and emergency care)
- Maintain continuity of care from admission to discharge
- Screen for sick call and administer medications
- Provide first aid and basic life support to patients and employees, as needed
- Maintain open lines of communication with security and treatment staff while providing input and feedback to assist the facility provider in organizing a treatment plan
- Record all pertinent information into the medical record
- Promote continued competence through education/certification with a focus on correctional nursing
- Provide employee health services in accordance with policy
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of Clinical experience
- Graduate of a Practical Nursing program
- VA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- BLS certification
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
