Cost Accountant (Space and Defense)
The Cost Accountant reports to the AP West Site Finance Manager in the Space and Defense Group. This individual will be responsible for the preparation, reporting, and forecasting for the site. Also, you will provide financial support to multiple projects across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the monthly and quarterly close
- Prepare journal entries, management reports, and EAC report
- Monitor direct labor use and indirect rate performance vs. targets
- Monitor and advise on financial reporting and program cost controls.
- Prepare customer progress payments and cost-plus monthly billings
- Reconcile customer advances and progress payments to the GL
- Assist Corporate Accounts Receivable personnel in their collection of unpaid invoices
- Support teams with required data for quotes/estimates
- Support internal/external audits
- Support the Group's annual budget process, and will help develop departmental budgets and profit and loss statements and balance sheets
- Support ad hoc/special projects
Minimum Requirements to be considered…
- Two year degree in Accounting with at least five years’ experience in Accounting OR
- High school diploma or GED with at least eight years’ experience in Accounting
- Working knowledge in Financial and US GAAP principles
- Experience building strategic working relationships
- Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
- Minimum two years of related experience in accounting
- This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
You will be filled at a salary level dependent upon your education and experience as it relates to the position.
Negotiations start at $50k per year
