Position Summary:
The Cost Accountant works mostly independent, but in collaboration with others in Finance, Sales, and Manufacturing. This role is responsible for developing an Inventory and Cost Tracking process and the continuous enhancements of this process as business needs dictates. The role will oversee and assist in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of our financial management system, Intacct. Additionally, the Cost Accountant will work with the Controller in other areas to provide support as needed to include monthly close, account reconciliation, assist with Audit requests and creating reports as requested by Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
- Directly responsible for the preparation of journal entries to record revenue, expenses, accruals, allocations, and other general ledger transactions pertaining to different company functions
- Work with Manufacturing on procedure and methods for recording inventory transactions such as physical counts, perpetual systems, or estimates based on previous usage rates.
- Conduct physical inventory audits at our manufacturer periodically to ensure accurate reporting between Manufacturer and Company.
- Ensuring and verifying that all inventory transaction details are recorded accurately in Intacct accounting system.
- Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services.
- Perform month-end and year-end closings
- Monthly reporting as needed for management
- Prepares audit reports and presents to executives and upper management
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PDF
- Understanding of GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), accruals entries, and other aspects of Accounting
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (essential).
- Two years related experience and/or training
