Position: Counter Sales Associate
Daypart: Full- and Part-time Positions Available
The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for assisting DIY and commercial customers with purchasing parts and supplies for their automotive needs. This role assists customers with selecting required auto parts, suggesting companion requirements and ensuring that the customer is exposed to the full product line. The Counter Sales Associate also locates requested parts and completes the cash transaction. If the part is not in-stock, the Counter Sales Associate determines the availability and submits a special order if requested by the customer. This role requires superior customer service and strong organizational skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide professional selling experience for in-store and over-the-phone customers
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and services objectives
- Operate POS and Parts lookup system
- Responsible for store Cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot, etc.
- Assist in store inventory processes including unloading shipments, cycle counts, etc.
- Provide DIY services including battery testing, wiper installation, etc.

Ability to maintain and develop comprehensive product knowledge
Ability to maintain high standards of customer service and create a superior customer experience
Ability to perform sales at register and provide prompt and expedient service
Ability to communicate effectively with peers, customers and management
Ability to locate and stock parts
Ability to speak and write English, Spanish a plus
Ability to build customer loyalty and aid customers in locating the right merchandise for their project
Ability to use computers accurately and effectively
Ability to produce consistently high sales averages
Ability to manage time effectively
Ability to be punctual and at work as scheduled
Valid driver’s license
Work assortment of shifts and weekends, as needed
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs or more; climb ladders; kneel or crouch
Must be able to:
- Demonstrate good communication skills both written and oral. Communicate in English clearly and proficiently. Candidates fluent in other languages are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge
Strong computer proficiency, including typing skills and the ability to navigate through multiple computer systems.
Educational Background:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Professional Experiences:
A minimum of one year of sales or customer experience in a high volume or service oriented environment
Passion for customer service and attention to detail – Goes the extra mile
Proven strong sales and closing skills the ability to friendly, engaging manner
