Court Records Clerk II
Applications are being accepted for qualified individuals to apply for the
Court Records Clerk II position.
This is a union position and is open until filled.
General Statement of Duties
Serves in the County Clerk’s Office as a Clerk of the Circuit Court attending court sessions.
Serves as a Vital Record Clerk. Assists with the election process.
Distinguishing Features of the Class
As a Clerk of the Circuit Court, the employee in this class performs all phases associated with the maintenance of the circuit court files. Office procedures are governed by statute and must be executed accordingly and proficiently. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief Deputy Clerk and the County Clerk.
Examples of Work
▪ Process new Circuit Court cases.
▪ Records daily court work in the computer.
▪ Attend Court Hearings.
▪ Answers Circuit Court correspondence.
▪ Assists with the Jury process.
▪ Audits month-end reports.
▪ Prepares court documents and court orders as required.
▪ Process documents for court filings.
▪ Provides customer assistance to the public.
▪ Processing of applications related to Vital Records.
▪ Processing of applications for Concealed Pistol Licenses.
▪ Assists with the Election process.
▪ Assists Chief Deputy Clerk and County Clerk.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
▪ Computer, clerical and office management support skills required.
▪ Pleasant telephone and social manners required.
▪ High level of customer service skills required.
▪ Demonstrated ability to perform in a support team capacity required.
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
▪ Ability to pass clerical, typing and data entry test.
▪ Must be bondable under the County’s blanket bonding policy.
▪ Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds without assistance.
▪ Pass a criminal background check and physical examination.
Experience and Training
Associates degree preferred or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
