Position/Salary and Benefits: VTC Court Services Officer I, grade 36, $25.47 hourly

Job Duties: This is currently a grant position which will coordinate veteran's treatment court program admissions with the Specialty Court Program Manager through collaboration with external and internal stakeholders; screens applicants for eligibility for the probation track; interviews probation applicants using motivational interviewing techniques and identifies risks and needs; formulates eligibility recommendations to veteran's treatment court probation program and presents written and verbal recommendations to veteran's treatment court team.
Tracks client compliance, performance, and progress through phases of program; prepares documents to be presented to court; processes files and phase tracking spreadsheet; provides guidance and direction to clients and prospective applicants; provides ongoing guidance and recommendations to veteran's treatment court team on program status of clients; and assesses as a committee member the continued status of clients in program.
Coordinates with the Specialty Court Program Manager treatment court training activities for committee, local partners, and veteran mentors; sets up quarterly steering committee meetings; identifies and reports on federal grant status and private donation funding
This is a grant funded position, which could be renewed after the year.
Required Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in corrections, criminology, counseling, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field. Preferred military background.
All applicants are subject to a name-based criminal history background check. Must have a valid Drivers License and access legal means of transportation. If employed by Court Services, the new employee must pass a fingerprint-based background check within the first 30 days of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience in caseload management.
- Ability to multi task and have excellent time management skills
- Depending on department you must be able to complete YLS, EPICs, WRNA, LSCMI and Mediation certification within 12 months of employment and maintain those certifications while employed
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, verbally and written.
- Proficient use of current computer program and technology
- Professional, courteous and cooperative in demeanor
