Fee for Service position Coney Island area (Bilingual/Spanish Speaking Preferred) Interborough Developmental and Consultation Center in Brooklyn is seeking Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment Specialists (CPST)to join our Children Family Treatment Support Services Program. (CFTSS) Services are community based and provided in Brooklyn.

Job Description

• Provide in-home goal directed interventions with the identified child/youth and family/caregiver to address challenges associated with behavioral health needs
• Provideinterventions and activities are directed by a completed assessment and care plan
• Interventions and activities provided under CPST are intended to achieve improved stability, functional improvement in daily living personal recovery and/or resilience, family and interpersonal relationships and school and community integration.
• CPST services must be part of a service plan that includes goals and activities necessary to correct or ameliorate conditions discovered during the initial assessment visits.
• CPST is a face-to-face intervention with the child/youth (required), family/caregiver or other collateral supports. This is a multi-component service that consists of therapeutic interventions such as counseling, as well as functional supports.
• Activities are task oriented intended to achieve the identified goals set forth in the child’s service plan
• Provide community based assessments, and rehabilitative services to children and families that that may have had difficulty engaging in formal office settings, but can benefit from community services.
• Provide strength based, supportive counseling, and solution-focused interventions
• Work with the child/youth, family/caregiver and collaterals to identify strategies and treatment options specific to the clients identified goals
• Assist the client with independent living skills, both at home and in the community, to promote recovery and growth
• Assist the individual with effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors or triggers that would risk their remaining in a natural community location

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related human services field with at least one year of experience in mental health and/or substance use counseling.
• Bachelor's degree level with a minimum of two years of applicable experience in the children's mental health, addiction, and/or foster care/child welfare/juvenile justice.
• Able to work in the afternoon, early evenings and/or Sundays.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the oversight and execution of all requirements for the program, as assigned
• Timely documentation of all provided services
• Participate in treatment team meetings
• Report all Serious Reportable and Recordable Incidents to Supervisor.
• Comply with policies, procedures, and time frames for reporting, documenting, and billing activities
• Knowledge of evidence based practice and complex trauma
