The Medical Staff Credentials Coordinator is responsible for supporting the credentialing functions of the HealthONE facilities.

  • You perform delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at the Continental Division office.
  • Your role is accountable for complete file review for initial and reappointment applications from doctors and advanced practice professionals (APPs) that are released from the Credentials Processing Center (CPC).
  • Your role reviews all information received and verify completeness and accuracy on content in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • This position ensures regulatory compliance and compliance with HCA/CPC policies.
  • This role includes interaction with the CPC, Division Leadership, hospital departments, outside facilities, administration, and physicians/APPs including medical staff leadership.
  • Other duties may include: Provider action forms, case logs, building new and/or updating existing providers in eSAF, Meditech, HealthStream; maintaining the credentialing database, and coordination with the appropriate facilities for credentialing items.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

NAMSS or CAMSS membership preferred. Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.

Education:

High School graduate or GED required. Associate's Degree or, an equivalent combination of training and experience required.

Experience:

One to three years of in medical staff services or credentialing/privileging services.

  • PC Skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word) applications, Visual Cactus, and others as required
  • Financial management - applies tools and processes to successfully manage to budget
  • Medical staff services technical skills - extensive knowledge of credentialing, privileging, peer review, and all other aspects of medical staff services

Degree of Supervision Required:

Minimal supervision: Individual proceeds on his/her own initiative, in compliance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and practices of HCA. Under the supervision of the Division Director.
