The Role
We have an opportunity for someone with extensive credit control experience and a track record of delivering collections of overdue and aged debts, ideally with a background in the London insurance and reinsurance market, or a professional services organization (Legal/accounting) to join our team of credit controllers as we grow our organization.
Delivery of cash collection targets are key to how performance is measured in the role.
The opportunity to work remotely is included depending on the region you are supporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for several debtors’ ledgers, predominantly with insurance and reinsurance companies. Ensure all overdue debts/accounts are followed up appropriately, to achieve cash collections targets, and reduce debtor days DSO.
- Manage the reduction of your ledger(s)by chasing overdue debts, resolving queries to clear debts, utilizing fee funds where applicable, requesting top ups, and regularly clearing sundry items.
- Investigation and resolution/collection of aged debts is a key deliverable in the role.
- Building effective internal and external professional relationships with clients i.e. adjusters internally and clients’ contacts to improve the collection of fees.
- Deploying escalation tools/procedures to influence a positive outcome, and maintaining effective, professional relationships with our clients at all times
- Maintain accurate and up to date records/status on our core systems.
- Compliance with CTA procedures and controls

Required Skills
- Strong organization skills managing the whole receivables ledger and prioritizing to get best results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating confidence and persistence
- Ability to listen to customers, show empathy and negotiate solutions
- Analytical skills using MS Office and in particular, Excel skills and use of Power BI, should be intermediate/advanced.
- Able to remain calm under pressure
- Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail, working with large data sets.
Experience & Qualifications
- At least 3 years’ experience as a credit controller in a financial services or professional services organization is essential, evidenced by a track record of delivering and exceeding targets in a similar role/environment.
- A track record of building relationships and able to influence positive outcomes with internal and external clients is essential.
- A self-starter, able to demonstrate strong organization skills, and able to prioritize workload effectively to deliver against key targets and core objectives/KPIs
- More than just a debt collector, someone who builds strong relationships with customers and creates a rapport built on trust and mutual respect. To be successful in this role, you must be authoritative, knowledgeable and calm.
- Credit management qualifications would be very helpful in this role, but not essential. A good level of academic attainment in English, Math and other subjects will be essential.
