JOB SUMMARY:

The Helpline Manager empowers Townhall II Helpline callers in distress, promoting holistic wellbeing by overseeing day-to-day programs and activities. This oversight includes supervising Crisis Intervention Specialists and volunteers, and performing the administrative duties required for successful daily operation of the Helpline. 40 hours/week, scheduled in collaboration with Director of Crisis & Community Services. Hours may include variations of morning, afternoon, evening, weekends, and possibly holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or closely related fields. Supervisory designator preferred, but not needed. At least two years of supervisory or managerial experience required. Supervisory/managerial experience need not be in the behavioral health/counseling/social work field but must demonstrate understanding of supervision roles and responsibilities for behavioral health/counseling/social work. The requirements for this position are subject to regular review and the discretion of the CEO or to comply with state or national accreditation or funding regulations.

LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, PsyD or other Master level or higher degree in behavioral health required. This requirement will not be waived, and licensure must be in good standing with the state of Ohio CSWMFT Board or interstate compact signatories.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Understand and implement Townhall II policies, procedures, Mission and Vision Statements, as well as the agency’s core values and Code of Ethics.

2. Understand and implement the Sanctuary Model of trauma-informed care.

3. Understand and implement Helpline policies and procedures, including AAS standards and expectations.

4. Ensure Helpline Policies and Procedures are reviewed annually and revised as needed to be compliant with the Sanctuary Model, AAS Standards, CARF standards and Townhall II standards.

5. Ensure Helpline staff and volunteers are thoroughly trained in their duties.

6. Understand and implement up-to-date evidence-based models with respect to coordinating the Helpline services and interventions.

7. Conduct business in a professional manner which reflects understanding of diversity, cultural and community needs, and the unique needs of individual customers.

8. Monitor, identify, and report all potential health and safety risks to the Safety Committee immediately upon discovery.

9. Available for 24-hour on-call consultation or supervision by Helpline staff.

10. Seek supervision and consultation as appropriate but no less than bi-weekly.

11. Promote positive relationships within the agency and community; participate in Management Team meetings and other interdepartmental and cross-functional teams as requested; attend agency functions.

12. Work collaboratively with Director of Crisis & Community Services to implement and evaluate Helpline department activities.

13. Track volunteer hours and relay those hours to the business office by the 10th of every month.

14. Review and update Helpline job descriptions annually.

15. Address any Helpline personnel issues with the Human Resource Department.

16. Perform annual staff performance evaluations.

17. Provide supervision of Helpline staff and resolve grievances/issues among employees when possible.

18. Schedule shifts on the Helpline at least two weeks in advance.

19. Actively recruit, hire, and ensure training of new Helpline staff and volunteers to ensure full coverage.

20. Cover shifts in the Helpline as needed to ensure full coverage when short-staffed.

21. Identify and submit any needed quarterly or annual reports on Helpline personnel training and development to the Director of Crisis & Community Services.

22. Learn the duties and be able to serve as interim Director of Crisis & Community Services if needed.

23. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency’s policies and applicable laws.

24. Ensure that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.

25. Other duties as assigned
