Turning Point is looking for a full-time Team Leader to join our Crisis Team (described below). Team Leaders must have a minimum educational attainment of a Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, in order to meet criteria to qualify as a "QMHP" in the state of Illinois.
This position includes a $2000 signing bonus!
Turning Point’s crisis system, called Community Support and The Living Room (CSTLR) is a fundamental part of our community. Turning Point’s Community Support and The Living Room has two components. The Living Room, which is an alternative to higher levels of care, where a consumer can speak with someone with lived experience of their own mental health challenges. Another component is our Mobile Crisis Response team, where experienced staff go out in dyads to where the consumer is at. We are looking to provide support to anyone, anywhere at any time. The program has a combination of staff with lived experience and staff with clinical training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes the leadership role (3-4 shifts per week) within the programs assigned hours (12pm-8pm) and oversees the activities of crisis workers during these shifts.
- Assumes responsibility for members of the community to determine needs and make recommendations for treatment.
- Assisting program staff at assessing the needs of the caller to determine the level of intervention necessary.
- Provides weekly staff supervision that is strengths based and collaborative.
- Models for program staff person-centered, recovery-oriented care that is rooted in evidence-based practices aimed at assessing crisis and determining appropriately safety planning.
- Works collaboratively with community stakeholders and develops relationships with providers and partners in the crisis care continuum.
- Provides on-call coverage for 24/7/365 crisis response. Reasons a crisis worker might contact the on-call supervisor overnight might be need for hospitalization, high risk behaviors or need for immediate consultation that cannot wait until the next morning.
- Shares the following responsibility with other Team Leads: facilitating weekly team meetings, outreach to new referral sites and collaborators, special projects as needed and ensuring Crisis Worker staff are completing their required paperwork/trainings.
- Acts as backup for consultation purposes to all members of the CSTLR as well as clinicians at Turning Point.
- Provides training and supervision of the Crisis Workers, facilitates onboarding and ongoing crisis intervention and de-escalation training techniques to program staff.
- Works with the CSTLR Program Coordinator to process timesheets and time off requests and ensure proper staff coverage.
- Covers on-call shifts as needed and must be available for rotating holidays.
- Conducts annual evaluations in a timely manner for assigned team staff. Develops specific goals and objectives and provide the method and opportunity for each team staff to succeed in their professional development.
- Participates in the hiring sequence of crisis workers and make recommendations on the hiring or termination of team staff.
- Monitors employee compliance with required training and paperwork.
Experience:
- Two (2) years crisis experience preferred.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to synthesize and summarize information and make judgments regarding member care.
- Computer proficiency, including the ability to use email, navigate and enter notes into electronic medical records and working knowledge of pertinent software.
- Communicates well orally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of group dynamics required.

Pay: $57,500.00 per year
