The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Crisis Stabilization Therapist to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. TGC is a Community Mental Health Center serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. Primary Duties for Crisis Stabilization Therapist:

• Provide clinical assessments of clients to justify placement in the Crisis Stabilization Center
• Provide brief psychotherapy and motivational interviewing for new consumers
• Coordinate and promote integration of the program with other agency programs to enhance client outcomes
• Manage program performance to ensure medically necessary service are provided in the quality and quantity needed to promote client stabilization.

Minimum Qualifications for Crisis Stabilization Therapist:

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or Professional Counseling, and licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as a LMSW, LMLP, LMFT, LPC, LSCSW, LCP, LCPC OR LCMFT by the first day of employment.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: two semester’s master-level practicum experience in a clinical setting providing assessment and therapy services Preferred: post master’s clinical experience, and experience with the Kansas system of community-based mental health care and associated evidence-based practices.
