POSITION SUMMARY
The Cultivation Specialist is responsible for the cultivation of our medical cannabis gardens, under the direction of the Cultivation Manager and Cultivation Leads. The Cultivation Specialist assists in monitoring and maintaining plant production and health. They are also responsible for maintaining quality control measures to ensure a high-quality product, as well as assisting with the organization, cleanliness, and efficiency of the cultivation areas. The Cultivation Specialist carries out day-to-day plant care, including watering, pruning, harvesting, and trimming.
Local applicants are preferred; relocation assistance will not be provided.
CORE JOB DUTIES (including but not limited to)
Plant Care:
- Measures and mixes nutrient and plant applications and applies these mixtures according to Noa Botanicals policy
- Ensures plant health by pruning, topping, trimming, scouting, repotting, trellising, and analyzing plant health according to Noa Botanicals policy, as well as any other tasks required
- Assists Cultivation Manager with rotation of strains through the garden to ensure variety and quantity for dispensary locations
Facility Cleaning:
- Performs all assigned duties required to ensure a clean and safe cultivation facility
- Responsible for the cleanliness of all cultivation equipment and tools, including light reflectors, containers, mixing tools, application tools, and ventilation equipment
- Strictly adheres to company’s standard of sanitation and cleanliness of Cultivation facility
- Sweeping and mopping
- Sanitizing all hard surfaces, including tables and walls
Reports & Documentation:
- Assists the Cultivation Manager with tracking plants from birth to harvest by ensuring proper and accurate documentation for applicable activities
- Ensures accurate documentation of all plant tracking numbers, lot numbers, and all other applicable information
- Documents, according to Noa Botanicals policy, the application of all nutrients and/or substances applied to any plant located within the Cultivation facility
Core Competencies:
- Working knowledge of State of Hawai’i laws, regulations, and rules related to medical cannabis
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities
- Proficiency and accuracy in using windows-based software, and internet navigation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and challenging environment
- Ability to work well, individually and in teams, with a diverse group of people. Must have excellent people skills
Education & Background Requirements:
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
- Minimum of 21 years of age as required by state statute
- Must pass DOH clearance and fingerprinting, per applicable requirements set forth under state statute
- High School Diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push & pull 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, squat, bend & kneel repetitively throughout an 8–10-hour workday
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to visually identify plant health issues, safety hazards & signage
- Ability to use a ladder up to 12 feet high
- Ability to work in the following conditions:
- Exposure to pollen, allergens, and non-carcinogenic pesticides, dust, odors, extreme heat, artificial light, sun exposure, vibrations, and water
- Must have reliable transportation and flexibility in scheduling
- Must have a valid driver’s license or state ID
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19
- This is a full-time position that requires but is not limited to, 40 hours per week, including holidays & weekends
Work Schedule: Varies; Monday - Friday; 7:30a – 4:30p (weekends & holidays as needed)
Job Type: Non-Exempt, Full-time
Starting Pay: $16/Hr. ($17/Hr. after successful completion of 90-day assessment)
