Custodian
Job description
- Empties and removes trash and recycling from the interior and exterior of the building.
- Cleans production/donations and loading dock areas
- Cleans glass doors, mirror, and windows
- maintains inventories and requisitions supplies and equipments
- Repairs door hardware, windows, tables, desks, chairs, cabinets, etc.
- Repairs holes in walls
- Replace interior and exterior light bulbs
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:
- Experience in custodial cleaning environment, routine building maintenance (Wall repair, painting, minor plumbing repair, or grounds keeping)
- Training and understanding of cleaning chemicals, and safety procedures
- Exceptional analytical, judgment, decision-making and communications skills
- Superior coaching, leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and concensus
Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Cultural Competency: Demonstrate cultural competence; specifically, awareness, attitude, knowledge, willingness and skills to work effectively with a culturally and demographically diverse population
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel and PowerPoint.
Other Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of a Custodian
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Not required for this position.

Physical Demands: Including but not limited to working on ladders, lifts, and/or scaffolding, operating hand tools and equipment including vacuums, ops, floor polishers/cleaners, working indoors/outdoors in all types of weather, and working with cleaning and other related chemicals.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts, with fumes or airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals, under outdoor weather conditions, and with risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
